A Beach Town on the Gulf of Papagayo
Playas del Coco is one of Guanacaste's liveliest beach towns: a wide, sheltered bay full of fishing and tour boats, a main street of restaurants, shops and cafés, and sunsets that pull the whole town down to the sand every evening.
It's also the launch point for some of the best adventures in the region. Dive boats leave from the beach for the Catalina and Bat Islands, sportfishing charters head out every morning, and just inland the dry-forest hills open up into the backroads, river crossings and ridge-top viewpoints we explore by ATV.
